Gracie JIU-JITSU
What makes Bowman Systems MMA – Lineage BJJ/Calvert MMA different from many other martial arts school is our focus on technique. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions, grappling tournaments, and mixed martial arts fights, have turned BJJ into an abstract martial art. Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was created as a means of self-defense and survival in life for "real world" situations. There is little room for error in a scenario that goes to ground so technique is crucial.
Our Program
Our Jiu-Jitsu program at Bowman Systems MMA is originated by Professor James Thrift, a Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt professor under 9th degree red belt Grandmaster Relson Gracie, and director of the Lineage BJJ program at Calvert MMA. Professor Thrift has served in highly protective government roles for over 20 years and the program's no-nonsense self-protection methods are reflected in the curriculum.
